Isotropy was created in January of 2022 by Derek Roddy and Nick Kerns. What started as a Drum Teacher/Drum Student relationship took an unexpected turn when a routine hangout ended up in a jam with Nick on guitar, and the concept of Particle Horizon was born. Roddy and Kerns would continue to write 5 songs with the goal of creating challenging and authentic music that is fun to play and fun to listen to. The position of Bass Guitar and lead vocals was taken by Colin Andrews in late 2022, long time friend of Derek Roddy and phenomenal Fingerstyle bass player whose technical skill creates the backbone of Isotropys sound.
November 2023 the position of rhythm guitar was taken By Mike Medio, who met Nick completely by chance, waiting in line at a show and the rest was history. With this now complete line up of musicians, the band 2nd 6 track ep "San Ten Ichi Ichi" was recorded and released by the beginning of June 2024. This EP offers a variety of crushing blast beats and melodic sections to tell the story of an undersea megthrust earthquake that caused a tsunami devastating the lives and families of Japan on March 11 2011 which translates to the title of the EP
